2011 Summer Worship Series

It is the high privilege of Montreat Conference Center to host the gathered community for worship during the summer months in Montreat. Each Sunday, people come to Anderson Auditorium as summer visitors, early-bird conferees, year-round residents, vacationers, Cottagers, and conference leadership. They come together from across the valley and across the country to worship God together in Montreat. We are fortunate to hear the Word proclaimed from some of our denomination’s most highly acclaimed preachers. The 2011 summer worship series includes the following line-up:

  • June 5 – The Rev. Amos Disasa, Eastminster Presbyterian Church, Columbia, SC
  • June 12 – The Rev. Dr. John McCall, Westminster Presbyterian Church, Greensboro, NC
  • June 19 – The Rev. Mark Ramsey, Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church, Asheville, NC
  • June 26 – The Rev. Dr. Margaret Aymer, Johnson C. Smith Seminary, Atlanta, GA
  • July 3 – The Rev. Dr. Craig Barnes, Shadyside Presbyterian Church, Pittsburgh, PA
  • July 10 – The Rev. Carla Pratt Keyes, Ginter Park Presbyterian Church, Richmond, VA
  • July 17 – The Rev. Dr. Steve Hayner, Columbia Theological Seminary, Decatur, GA
  • July 24 – The Rev. Nancy Sehested, Circle of Mercy, Asheville, NC
  • July 31 – The Rev. Ludwig Weaver, Westminster Presbyterian Church, Greenville, SC
  • August 7 – The Rev. Dr. Lewis Galloway, Second Presbyterian Church, Indianapolis, IN

All Sunday worship services are held in Anderson Auditorium at 10:30 a.m. During morning worship, child care for children six months through completed kindergarten is available at the Updike Child Care Center on Texas Road.

At 12:00 Noon, following worship, a lunch buffet is served at the Galax Dining Room in Assembly Inn, $12.95 for adults; $6.00 for children 5-11. See the latest issue of This Week in Montreat for lunch menu.
