Chaplain Credentialing & Training Course

This credentialing and training course brings military and government chaplains and their families together for a time of learning, daily worship, connection, and refreshment.

The Chaplain Credentialing and Training Course will be held at Montreat Conference Center this year. It is nestled in between the mountains just 20 minutes east of Asheville, North Carolina. Of the 4,000 acres that make up Montreat, 2,500 acres are dedicated to wilderness. There are also 21 hiking trails of almost 30 miles. Accommodations will be in the historic Assembly Inn with meals in the Galax Dining Room. Child care and a youth program are available during the day.

 

Rates and Accommodations

We are now full in Assembly Inn for this conference. We have added rooms in the Winsborough, which is a rustic dorm-style lodge, located across the lake from Assembly Inn. It is not air-conditioned or handicapped accessible and does not have an elevator.  All meals are served in Assembly Inn which is a short walk around the lake from the Winsborough. Find out more here. If your command is paying, the total cost for this option is $480 instead of $540, which I will adjust once I receive your reservation.
Room check-in AFTER 3:00 pm on Monday. Room check-out BEFORE 11:00 am on Friday.
 
You are also welcome to make your own hotel reservation at the new Hampton Inn in Black Mountain.https://hamptoninn3.hilton.com/en/hotels/north-carolina/hampton-inn-black-mountain-AVLMOHX/index.html?SEO_id=GMB-HP-AVLMOHX   It is about a 10 minute commute to Montreat Conference Center. If you choose this option you can call Susan Akduman at 828-419-9829 and she can register you for the training and the meal plan which is $260.
Comprehensive Rates

If your commander is providing funds for you to attend in a TDY/TAD status, your credit card will be charged a registration fee, facilities fee, community services fee*, and room & meal charges for the service member totaling $540.00. All charges for your family will be billed to the council. You must provide credit card information when registering online, however, you may request that the military credit card be charged when the card is activated closer to the event date.

If your commander is NOT providing funds for you to attend in a TDY/TAD status, the registrar will MANUALLY adjust your charges after you register, and your credit card will ONLY be charged the registration fee of $100 instead of the full $540.00. All remaining charges for you and your family will be billed to the council.

*A community services fee of $1 per night per adult is charged for public services provided by the Town and the fire district.

Refund Policy

The $100 registration fee is non-refundable. All requests for cancellations must be in writing and received by Montreat via email, fax, or U.S. mail.
