Worship & Music 1

Not As The World Gives

For everyone committed to the work of worship in the church

Sponsored by the Presbyterian Association of Musicians (PAM) in cooperation with Montreat Conference Center
June 16–22, 2019

This conference offers a full week of worship and music for professionals, musicians, clergy, laypersons, choirs, youth groups, and families.

The Presbyterian Association of Musicians (PAM) works in cooperation with the Montreat Conference Center to offer two identical Worship and Music conferences each summer. Guided by the principles of Reformed worship, conferees explore opportunities for vital worship experiences and enriching the liturgical life of the local church.

Event Leadership

Rodger Nishioka – Preacher

Rodger Nishioka serves as the senior associate pastor at Village Presbyterian Church in Prairie Village, Kansas. He joined the staff in 2016 after serving for 15 years on the faculty of Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia. At Village Church, he works with the other associate pastors and ministry directors and carries major responsibility for adult faith formation. The son of an honorably retired Presbyterian pastor, Rodger is evidence that you can be a pastor's kid and still love Jesus.

Jenny McDevitt – Liturgist

Since April 2018, Jenny has served as Senior Pastor and Head of Staff at Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church in New York City. Prior to that she was Pastor of Pastoral Care at Village Presbyterian Church outside of Kansas City. An amateur poet and artist, she delights in bringing creativity of all kinds into worship. She believes our words matter, especially when talking to and about one another, and talking to and about God. She loves preaching each week and crafting liturgy to further explore the scriptural text. She also loves laughter, pancakes, walking her dogs, and marveling at the people of NYC. She depends daily on the grace of God and considers herself to be the luckiest fool she knows.
