Presbyterian Federal Chaplaincies Training and Credentialing Course

The Presbyterian Federal Chaplaincies Training and Credentialing Course will be held at Montreat Conference Center this year. It is nestled in between the mountains just 20 minutes east of Asheville, North Carolina. Of the 4,000 acres that make up Montreat, 2,500 acres are dedicated to wilderness. There are also 21 hiking trails of almost 30 miles. Accommodations will be in the historic Assembly Inn with meals in the Galax Dining Room. Child care and a youth program are available during the day.

Rates and Accommodations

The Assembly Inn has 100 guest rooms and accommodates groups of up to 200 guests in single and double occupancy rooms, as well as one apartment and one deluxe suite. All rooms have either one king bed, one queen bed, or two twin beds.
Room check-in AFTER 3:00 pm on Monday. Room check-out BEFORE 11:00 am on Friday.
Comprehensive Rates

If your organization is providing funds for you to attend in a TDY/TAD status, your credit card will be charged a registration fee, facilities fee, community services fee*, and room & meal charges for the service member totaling $573.00. All charges for your family will be billed to the council. You must provide credit card information when registering online, however, you may request that the military credit card be charged when the card is activated closer to the event date.

If your organization is NOT providing funds for you to attend in a TDY/TAD status, the registrar will MANUALLY adjust your charges after you register, and your credit card will ONLY be charged the registration fee of $100 instead of the full $573.00. All remaining charges for you and your family will be billed to the council.

*A community services fee of $1 per night per adult is charged for public services provided by the Town and the fire district.

Refund Policy

The $100 registration fee is non-refundable. All requests for cancellations must be in writing and received by Montreat via email, fax, or U.S. mail.


Childcare and a youth program are available during the day. If you are bringing children who have NOT completed kindergarten yet, please note: Montreat Conference Center requires medical information for each child. It is essential for us to have your child's current health information in order to be able to ensure the safety and well-being of campers during their time at the conference. These documents must be received prior to your child’s attendance. You will be sent these forms after you register. (Children who have completed Kindergarten are not required to submit these forms.)

To register for childcare, on the registration form you must check the box marking that your children will be attending, and fill out the information boxes for your children.
