Hurricane FAQ

We have cancelled events through October 26 and are currently unable to confirm our ability to host events following that date through November. If we are unable to host you, we will give you notice of cancellation by 15 days prior to your event. However, we are working hard to be operational by the end of October. We want to give you as much information as we can so that, given the uncertainty, you can decide whether you would like to cancel and have your event elsewhere or wait with us and see if your event can be hosted here.


I still want to have my event at Montreat. What do I do?

Great! Please email Betsy Clover at betsyc@montreat.org to let her know.  She will continue to communicate with you about arrangements. She will give you a cancellation notice 15 days prior to your event if we are unable to host you. If we learn we cannot host you, Connie will be in touch about rescheduling.

I’m uncomfortable waiting for Montreat’s ability to host my group, what do I do?

We understand. This is a difficult situation for all of us. Reply to this email or email Connie at retreats@montreat.org, and we can either reschedule or explore canceling your event.

What are my rescheduling options?

If you want to reschedule your retreat in December, January, or February, please let us know in a reply to this email. Connie will let you know what is available during those times.

If you want to hold your spot for 2025, reply to this email or email Connie at retreats@montreat.org and we will move your event to the corresponding weekend in 2025 and transfer all payments to the new dates.

What if I want to cancel?

We understand that you may not have the information you need to reschedule. If you want to cancel, contact Connie directly by replying to this email or emailing retreats@montreat.org. Requests to cancel will be handled on a case-by-case basis. Contractual terms may apply.

Can I roll over our payments to Montreat Youth Conference or a donation to Montreat?

Yes! Just let us know what you want to do, and someone will follow up with you.

Are we going to host volunteers?

We know that volunteers are eager to assist us. We will offer avenues for volunteer service, and some low-cost housing options for work groups in the near future. More information will be provided as it is available.
