While it may seem like the summer just ended, here at Montreat, we are already hard at work preparing for next year’s Montreat Youth Conference. In fact, registration for thThe wait is finally over! Today we are excited to announce the conference themes for our upcoming youth and middle school conferences. As our two signature events for youth, the themes for these conferences are often highly anticipated. Keep reading to see what’s in store for 2027!
However, before we jump right in, we would like to share a little bit about the theme selection process. People often incorrectly assume that Montreat staff are responsible for picking the theme each year. As it turns out, the themes for these events are actually selected by the conference Planning Teams — and it’s a job they take very seriously! The process begins with time spent in worship, study, and reflection as team members consider the needs of today’s youth and how the upcoming conferences might respond to those needs. From there, the team begins brainstorming, writing down as many potential theme ideas as possible. They then thoughtfully narrow the list, removing ideas that don’t align with their previously stated goals for the conference. Once just two or three possibilities remain, team members cast a blind vote to determine the theme for the following year. And now, the moment we’ve all been waiting for…
The Montreat Youth Conference Theme for 2027 Is:
Orbiting Faith! Through this theme, we hope to create a community that fosters genuine belonging and creates a safe space where youth can explore faith and spirituality in ways that reflect who they truly are. We will foster the courage to have deep conversations that challenge us to act boldly within our identity as well as make time for both slowness and play. And through it all, we will create spaces so that every voice, worship style, and way of being can find a place in our shared orbit.
The Middle School Conference Theme for 2027 Is:
Bear Much Fruit! During this year’s event, we will explore how God nurtures and cares for us and how we, in turn, can share God’s abundant love. We’ll also tackle subjects like forgiveness, resilience, community, and growth. All of this and more will be achieved through worship, small groups, and recreation events carefully designed with middle school students in mind.
