While it may seem like the summer just ended, here at Montreat, we are already hard at work preparing for next year’s Montreat Youth Conference. In fact, registration for the 2027 conference will open on October 1. That’s just a few weeks away! To help you prepare, we’ve gathered a few helpful tips and tricks below. We hope you’ll take them into consideration as you start planning for next summer!
Start Thinking About Housing
One of the most important parts of the registration process is reserving your housing. Conference center housing fills quickly, so groups are encouraged to begin discussing their needs with our staff as soon as possible. Having a realistic estimate of your group size and budget will help you make informed decisions when selecting from available housing options.
Current Conference Center Housing Availability
- Week One: 8 Assembly Inn rooms and 11 Winsborough rooms remain.
- Week Two: Assembly Inn and Winsborough are currently full.
- Week Three: Assembly Inn is currently full; 21 Winsborough rooms remain.
- Week Four: Assembly Inn and Winsborough are currently full.
- Week Five: 23 Assembly Inn rooms and 5 Winsborough rooms remain.
- Week Six: 38 Assembly Inn rooms remain, and Winsborough is fully available.
Housing needs change regularly, so availability is subject to change as groups register and adjust their reservations.
If you are exploring accommodations outside of Montreat Conference Center housing, a private housing list is available upon request.
Register the Number You Know You’ll Bring
It can be tempting to reserve a few extra spaces just in case your group grows, but over-registering often creates challenges for both your congregation and other groups hoping to attend. Instead, we encourage groups to register based on the number of participants they reasonably expect to bring. This approach helps make housing and conference space available to as many groups as possible while also reducing the likelihood that you’ll incur cancellation fees later in the process. As your plans become more finalized, you can continue working with conference center staff to make updates to your registration.
Gather Information Before Registration Opens
To make sure everything goes as smoothly as possible, it helps to have the following information ready before you begin the registration process:
- Estimated number of youth and adult attendees
- Preferred housing choices
- Contact information for your church and group leader
Taking a few minutes to gather this information ahead of time will make signing up a breeze!
Looking Ahead
We are excited to welcome youth groups back to Montreat for another season of worship, community, recreation, and faith formation. We encourage leaders to begin conversations with families and volunteers now so that they are ready when registration opens.
As you plan, please remember that scholarships are available. We encourage groups to explore these opportunities and not let financial concerns keep youth from experiencing Montreat Youth Conference.
